When “Normal” Labs Don’t Mean You’re Okay

Have you ever been told your labs are “normal,” but deep down you know something isn’t right?

You’re exhausted. You’re anxious or low. You’re gaining or losing weight unexpectedly. Your brain feels foggy. You’re not yourself.

Here’s the truth: Lab ranges are based on population averages—not personal wellness. So, even if your results are technically “in range,” they may not be optimal for you.

Conditions like thyroid imbalance, hormonal shifts, nutrient deficiencies, or inflammation can be missed or dismissed if we rely only on surface-level labs. And that’s especially true in the postpartum period, when so many changes are happening at once.

If you’re not feeling well, keep pushing for answers. Functional or integrative testing, a second opinion, or even a more thorough look at your existing labs might help uncover what’s really going on.

You don’t need a “bad” lab result to deserve better care. Your symptoms are real and you deserve to feel well—not just “normal.”
